The Story Behind the Music:

How Echoes of Paris Came to Life

"I was quite young when I moved from Boston to Paris, full of hope and passion for music. Paris was a city alive with creativity, and I soon found myself immersed in its vibrant jazz scene. It was here that I had the extraordinary privilege of working with the legendary Chet Baker, a moment that would forever change my musical journey. Chet, with his unmistakable tone and poetic phrasing, chose to record six of my compositions, something I am forever grateful for.

Alongside my dear friend José Boto on drums, we put together a dynamic band featuring the renowned Richard Galliano on accordion and the versatile Michel Peratout. Our music was mostly original, a fusion of jazz traditions with a fresh, modern sound. We quickly began building a reputation, performing regularly in Paris' famed jazz clubs, captivating audiences with our blend of melodies and improvisation.

It was through these performances that we caught the attention of Yves Chamberland, a well-known producer in the Parisian jazz scene. Yves invited us to his studio, where we had the opportunity to bring our sound to life in a more permanent form. These sessions, filled with spontaneity and creativity, became the foundation of this album. Chet's brilliance and the spirit of that time are captured in every note."
